Happy Sunday! It’s been a lazy Sunday morning over at my house. I woke up and made coffee and then whipped up this amazing bowl of steel-cut oats and wanted to share the recipe with you all. This also wraps up my breakfast series with beeta honey! I had so much fun making different recipes this week with Beeta honey crystals and powder. beeta honey is so amazing (non-GMO, all organic, no added sugar, gluten-free, and the list keeps going!) and I will definitely be using it from now on as my sugar substitute for baking and even in my coffee and tea!
Banana Honey Steel Cut Oats
INGREDIENTS
3/4 cup water or unsweetened almond milk
1/4 cup quick cook steel-cut oats (i buy mine from trader joes)
3 tsp of Beeta honey crystals or powder
1/4 cup of almond milk
thinly sliced banana
chopped pecans or walnuts
METHOD
Bring water or almond milk to boil in small saucepan uncovered. Add in oats and stir, then cover. Turn heat to medium-low. Let cook for 6-8 minutes. If you’re using traditional steel-cut oats adjust cooking time according to the package directions. Uncover and stir at least once while it cooks. once cooked, stir in Beeta honey crystals or powder (if using powder you might want to add a little extra water) and mix well.
Place oat mixture into small ramekin or bowl and add thinly sliced bananas, chopped nuts, and then I absolutely love adding a bit more almond milk to mine to make it more “runny” but if you like your oats dry then you can skip that step. Enjoy!
