I consume a smoothie at least once a day, most days of the week. I love them! They are the perfect drink that packs so many nutritional benefits depending on what you pack into them. This Nuts and Grains Smoothie is protein-packed and it will keep you energized and satisfied for hours! It’s also so great if you are craving something sweet and decadent but want to stay away from processed sugar! This smoothie is the perfect on-the-go breakfast and also a great post-workout recovery smoothie. It’s so satisfying because of the addition of the peanut butter and the oats. The added fiber from the oats will keep you feeling full for longer too.
When I was losing my weight I would incorporate smoothies sometimes for dinner as a post-workout meal and I loved the convenience of it and it helped aid in my weight loss as well! I’m not saying to replace every dinner with a smoothie but it can be helpful especially if you workout at night! Peanut butter and banana are a classic flavor combo and it basically masks any taste of protein powder you put into it! I have been loving the flavorless collagen peptides which have almost 20 grams for two scoops and it blends in so well to any smoothie!
I love how creamy this smoothie tastes, it truly reminds me of a milkshake! The peanut butter and banana and honey go so well together here and making the smoothie so satisfying. This recipe also uses the DIY homemade almond milk I created a few posts back which helps give the shake some much needed healthy fats.
