The past few weeks have been filled with beautiful sunny and warm days here in Southern Cali but I know many of you are not experiencing the same type of weather I am! For most of you, it’s still quite chilly out, a nip is definitely in the air, and you aren’t leaving home without a jacket unless you want to freeze your tush off. But no matter where you live and what it feels like outside I hope you find this blog post helpful! Today I’m talking all about refreshing your wardrobe with layers and how to take your winter looks straight into spring! Specifically with a silk dress! Silk dresses are actually really versatile and can be styled in many different ways and are the perfect piece to really layer up in winter + wear on their own in the spring and summer!

Layers are my saving grace when it comes to refreshing my wardrobe. Learning how to layer is amazing for so many reasons but it’s especially great as we transition our wardrobes out of winter and into spring! I’ve been loving the silk slip dress trend and wanted to explore all the different ways it can be styled to wear now (in the cooler months) and also when it gets warmer out! I’ve been dying over the new line at Walmart, called Scoop. They make the cutest, trendiest, best quality pieces at such an affordable price! When I saw this leopard dress I had to have it!

I also grabbed a cute long sleeve ribbed top and then a chunky oversized leopard sweater that compliments the dress even though it’s the same pattern it still totally works and makes the outfit even more fun and funky! I then saw this eye-catching red leather coat and knew it would be the perfect warm layer to complete the look. The red strappy heels are so comfortable and a perfect accessory for this outfit too!

The best part is this outfit looks amazing together but when you separate the pieces they also look amazing paired with and styled so many different ways! I love wearing the top and sweater with jeans and I layer the red leather coat over dresses, jeans, and skirts! The heels add a fun pop of color to almost any outfit!
