snack 2
Protein muddy buddies, or puppy chow, or crack (let’s be honest they are addicting) so this used to be and honestly still is one of my favorite treats and I’ve been craving them badly recently so last night i decided to try them out with half protein powder and half powdered sugar, I also subbed coconut oil instead of butter and used organic chocolate and peanut butter and let me tell you what… THEY WERE AWESOME! A great little treat with some added protein!
Protein Muddy Buddies (serving 1/2 cup, serves 4)
1/4 cup dark chocolate chips
2 tbsp organic peanut butter
1/2 tbsp coconut oil
2 cups chex cereal
3 tbsp protein powder (i used vanilla)
3 tbsp powdered sugar
Melt the first three items in a microwave-safe bowl, until well combined (about 45 secs to 1 min) make sure it doesn’t burn! Pour the Chex into a bowl and the melted chocolate, peanut butter, oil mixture onto the Chex, mixing to combine. put the protein powder and powdered sugar into large ziplock or Tupperware. Pour Chex with the chocolate mixture into the bag or Tupperware and shake well to combine, I often dance around the kitchen a bit in happiness!
